Changing Together Through Sports for Peace and Harmony

For players and spectators, sport is a unifying activity that brings together people from across backgrounds. 

URI Cooperation Circles in different regions of the world have harnessed sports and leveraged their power to unite people of different religions, ages, genders and cultural backgrounds.

Cooperation Circle member groups Dwarka Peace Society CC in North India, Building Blocks for Peace Foundation CC in Nigeria, Pakigdait Inc. CC in the Philippines, Spotlight CC in Yemen, AYICRIP CC in Nigeria, and Sahas CC in India organized local sports events like football/soccer, basketball, tug of war and foot-races. These occasions aim at fostering peace, tolerance, harmony, empowerment, relationships, and genuine reconciliation.

Sports activities from various Cooperation Circles highlight the possibility of creating positive change through teamwork and healthy competition.
